Racking systems in industries are primarily metal structures that have been designed to store products in industrial facilities or warehouses. There are different types of industrial racking systems available. These racking systems are key to smooth warehouse functioning. They have an important role to play in the company’s supply chain and logistics operations.
There are many varieties of industrial racking available for every situation unit load or storage. However, they all have their advantages and disadvantages. The primary aim here is to optimize the space available in the warehouse for maximum storage. The drive in racking system Malaysia is a part of the pallet racking system.
In the case of nonautomated systems, there are two types of racking:
- Pallet racking
- Picking solutions
Pallet racking
Pallet racking is an industrial racking type that has been designed to primarily support large loads that need to be lifted by a forklift or other handling equipment. There are four types of pilot tracking available:
Adjustable pallet racking
This racking style mechanically stores the pallets by the user forklifts. The forklift is responsible for accessing the goods from the aisles running parallel to the racking system. The forklifts have immediate and direct access to all the unit loads. Check out pallet racking system Malaysia if you want to get this installed in your warehouse.
Compact tracking
This is a high-capacity storage system. It optimizes the space and height of the warehouse by reducing the truck’s work aisles. In this, parallel aisles are generated on the inside of the structure. The forklift can enter and move around to load and unload the pallet. Compact racking systems are of two types: the drive-in and the drive-through ones.
The drive-in pallet racking
The forklift only requires access to one aisle in the drive-in pallet racking system. This is used in warehouses where only homogeneous products are stored.
Drive through pallet racking
The drive-through racking requires access to two work aisles. This is perfect for warehouses where there is a high rotation of products. However, space optimization is much less.
Live pallet racking
This racking system uses the advantages of gravity force and pushing to optimize the storage of the balance. By using these forces, the pallets are moved into the desired position.
Mobile tracking
The metal structure is mounted on a chassis or mobile base in mobile racking. It is guided by rails that are fixed on the floor. Unfortunately, in this system, only one work aisle can be open at one time. This system uses remote traction and electrical motors for working.
Picking solutions
Long-span shelving or picking solutions are storage methods used for less bulky products like small items, cartons et cetera. This method operates without elevation or handling equipment. Another advantage of picking solutions is that you can combine the picking solutions with a pallet racking system and customize and versatile solutions for your specific warehouse.
Picking solutions are mainly located in the filing spaces, preparation areas, or maintenance areas of the warehouse.
